Ward/Kraft Looking for Cutting Edge Distributors

Ward/Kraft, Inc. has always been the leading manufacturer of innovative products, and is currently looking for forward thinking distributors for potential test sites for the latest shipping document solution, the Duplex Packing Slip/Shipping Label.

The product combines modern hardware technology and Ward/Kraft's proprietary press capability to offer a one-piece packing slip/shipping label form. This application offers labor and time savings as well as error reduction.

The Duplex Packing Slip/Shipping Label does require a laser duplex printer, and possibly some data stream merging. Ward/Kraft is offering a printer co-op purchasing program for the right application and can also offer software integration contacts if needed.

For product samples and more information contact Ward/Kraft LongRun at 877-759-3255 or visit our website.

New Envelope Offering

In today's market it's becoming more and more important to find ways to be more efficient and reduce costs. Ward/Kraft now has available a 2-way envelope that will help not only reduce these costs but also decrease the impact that our industry has on the environment.

The 2-way envelope is a standard is a standard #10 window envelope that is designed to be used as a return envelope as well. With 2 strips of remoistenable glue and handy zip strip the mail recipient is able to open the mail piece, remove the contents, reinsert portions on the contents and re-seal the envelope for the return. Any application that requires a return envelope along with an outgoing envelope and a letter is suitable for the 2-way envelope. Billings, fund raisers, surveys and invoices are all good applications for this envelope.

Omitting the standard #9 envelope can reduce the cost of the mail piece up to 50%. Insertion time and costs are also reduced when one of the inserted pieces is left out. Even postage can be saved by using this envelope. If your customer has a mail piece that is slightly heavier than postal regulations require, eliminating the return envelope can lighten the piece enough to drop it into a more economical postal bracket. Doing away with the #9 return envelope also opens up more space in your customer's storage room. All of these benefits make 2-way envelope the choice for any outbound/inbound mail application.

Not only is the 2-way envelope an economical choice, it's also the choice to make if your customer is environmentally responsible. Eliminating the waste from the return envelope reduces the demand for landfill space. Less paper is needed therefore less trees are cut down to support demand. In addition less energy and water are used to produce the mail piece, as well as less air emissions are released into our atmosphere. The 2-way envelop material is also made from 30% post consumer waster which reduces the demand for trees. Clearly the 2-way envelope is the socially responsible choice.

The next time your customer is looking for an inbound/outbound mailing solution let us quote on our 2-way envelope. It will help their bottom line and their public image.

New Paper Shows a Bright Future!

Ward/Kraft has announced that they will be transitioning to 92 brightness bond paper in their forms and labels divisions over the coming months. Many of the bond paper suppliers have announced they are converting inventories from a traditional 84/87 brightness to the new levels as they deplete current inventories. "This is exciting news for us and our distributors. A 92 level will make highlight and process colors more eye catching on products such as integrated cards, and hope this will let us move our customer base to the new stock quickly."

Ward/Kraft anticipates this change will help drive a new level of pressure seal mailers to direct mail markets that will combine integrated cards, affixed cards and magnets. Following are a few key points for distributors to consider.

  1. Review all orders that have significant color now and consider how the new brightness levels will affect the color on the reorder. Trademarked colors or brand colors should carry special attention as the 92-brightness level can have an impact on the color.
  2. Suggest to current customers they add more color for advertising on reorders to increase marketing impact to existing clients.
  3. Consider shorter runs of upcoming high color orders so they can be reordered on the brighter stock, as it is available.
  4. Be aware that paper mills and merchants have large inventories of traditional stock that must be depleted before the new stock will be readily available.
  5. Sell the change to your customer now even though the new stock is not available as an improvement to the industry. Don't let a competitor be the first to share this industry wide change.

Ward/Kraft would like to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year! May the Lord bless you and
your family this Holiday season!
