RealCard® Every so often a product comes along that grows and evolves beyond even the most optimistic expectations. Currently we are experiencing exactly that phenomenon with our RealCard® product. For those of you not familiar with RealCard®, our original product offering was roughly 2 1/2" of plastic joined to tag stock with a thin, laser compatible tape. We offered this product in one and two card versions in both stock and custom formats. We knew the product was potentially a winning item for us and distributors because of its smooth feeding characteristics and its lay flat characteristics in the tray. That initial assessment was indeed right on track and sales have grown nicely. This alone would have been a nice success but as Paul Harvey says, "and now for the rest of the story". As often happens, as more and more customers became aware of the product, we received an increasing number of requests for customization and different formats. This led us to produce custom orders with butterfly cards, orders with as many as 4 cards in a sheet, orders with slots in the cards for ID badges and even full sheets of plastic with 2 to 8 cards per sheet. In addition, we have received large volume orders that are being duplex printed, as well as orders that are being printed on color laser printers. Recently, we had a large foreign printer company contact us about securing a large volume of sheets for testing in their labs for their own product development. As a result of all the interest and sales in this product, we now stock 4 different formats and are watching volume and order history of a couple more formats to determine if they warrant making a stock item, and custom orders continue to flow in for all types of applications.
