Dear Roger,

I want to share with you a recent Ward/Kraft experience.

One of our important customers had a projected 10-month supply of custom printed pinfeed shipping labels for one of their divisions. In the last 5 weeks they had a significant surge in usage and in the fury of the surge, no one advised me. On Wednesday morning they called me saying they only had enough to last to the end of the next day.

We keep a buffer supply of select items in our warehouse for them but unfortunately not that item. However, we do keep a buffer on a higher usage item that is a blank version of the same special adhesive, custom-sized label. I thought possibly that W/K ShortRun might be able to overprint some, so I called Martin Guilfoyle. He explained that ShortRun no longer had the press previously used to imprint pinfeed labels and asked if I had talked to W/K Labels, I said no, that he was my first contact on the problem. Martin took the previous job numbers, said he would talk to the Label Division and see if there was some way W/K could help me. He assured me that W/K would do it's best and I knew that was a fact.

In a few minutes I got a call from Chris Gronau in W/K Labels, gathering other details and assuring me they were going to do everything possible to help me. After checking production availability she called me back to advise that W/K would ship that afternoon 75M custom labels (via WSKT with early AM delivery), and the balance to me the next day. I also received follow-up calls from both Martin and Chris to ensure that all communication had been complete.

Needless to say, there was tremendous comfort for me and my customer in knowing that this emergency was handled by true professionals, the Ward/Kraft Family. Thanks to all of you for an outstanding effort. You make me proud to be one of your distributors.
